Sevens Rugby Multiverse Development

Funded Project

The Sevens Rugby Multiverse Development Program is making a profound impact on the lives of young people in Somerset West, Macassar, and Kayamandi. Since its inception, the program has seen remarkable growth, with participation increasing by 61.9%, now reaching 72 young athletes across various age groups, including a newly-formed girls' team. But this initiative is about more than just rugby, it's about creating opportunities for youth to develop life-changing skills and empowering them to succeed on and off the field.

Through our donors generous support, participants are not only improving their athletic abilities, but also gaining essential skills like first aid, strength training, and nutrition education. These lessons extend far beyond the game, helping to shape confident, capable, and resilient young people who are better equipped to tackle the challenges of everyday life.

The program's impact is especially visible among new participants, like the four boys who recently joined. They're learning the game of rugby while discovering discipline, purpose, and confidence, all within a supportive community. Many are finding a sense of belonging that helps them grow into well-rounded individuals. One of the key needs now is to provide them with more nutritious meals to support their growing bodies and energy.

Looking ahead, the program is preparing older participants for life after school, with plans to offer internship opportunities that will teach valuable trade skills. This is not just about sports, it’s about equipping young people with the tools they need to build brighter futures and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

As the program continues to grow, it's creating safe spaces for hope, growth, and transformation. New training fields, passionate coaches, and the launch of a youth Sevens League are helping to foster a dynamic environment where young athletes can thrive. Your continued support is helping bridge crucial gaps by providing structured after-school programs, proper coaching, transport, equipment, and a platform for girls in rugby as well.

Join us in shaping the future of these young people. Together, we can build more than athletes, we can build leaders for tomorrow.
